About Me
Hi my name is Jordan Chiero and I am currently a senior at Tiffin University and I am majoring in Sports and Recreation Management. I am from Columbus, Ohio where I graduated from New Albany High School. I am the son of Jim and Kathy Chiero and I have a younger brother named Christian and a young sister named Lindsay. I played baseball here for four years and I want to pursue a career in the game of baseball.
My Career Objective
My career objective is very simple in that I want to stay in the game of baseball anyway I can. I played the game of baseball at a very high level for most of my life. I have been away from the game for about a month now, and it has made me realize that if I want to live a happy life baseball has to be a part of my life. Another thing I realized while being at Tiffin University is that I want to stay at the college level.
When I first came to Tiffin I thought I wanted to be a teacher and a coach at the high school level, however I quickly fell in love with the dedication and passion that was at the college level. It is just such a more beautiful game in college with more skill and dedication. I have so much respect for the high school game, but upon graduation I would love to start down the long road of becoming a college coach.
The road to becoming a head coach in college is a long and hard one. I will most likely have to start out as a Graduate Assistant. However, I think this would be a great opportunity to get my Master’s Degree and learn more about being a coach. Also, it is necessary to have your Master’s degree if you want to be a head coach at the Division 1 level. Then I would have to get an opportunity to be put on staff at a college where I would have to work my way up to the head coaching position.
